Eureka on Bridge
Shot on the Animus River Bridge at Silverton, Colorado this 1875 steam engine No.4, a 4-4-0 from the original Eureka and Palisades RR and is now privately owned and runs the rails of the D&SNGRR in Durango, Colorado about once a year. The image was captured on Kodak VPS 120 color negative film using a Hasselblad 500 c/m with a 50mm Distagon lens and converted to B&W. The train crosses the bridge loaded with the wood it will need to huff and puff back over the San Jaun mountains to Durango, Colorado. It is the only wood burning engine of its kind still operating that I am aware of. This makes a perfect mate to the other image of this train which you will also find in my gallery.
